Tough Time for Nepali Replica
A decade ago, Amit Dhungana got the opportunity to play a role as a subordinate leading actor just because his face resembled with that of the Bolleywood actor Bibek Mushran. But this resemblance didn't work well, he didn't get any role in the whole industry for a decade and recently he has appeared in the self-invested film, Maya Namara but it also didn't contribute much for his career.
Likewise actor Simanta Udas has his physical similarities with the Indian actor Jakai Shraf so he got a chance to play a role offered by Prakash Rayamajhi in his film, Avater later on he came to the screen in some not-so-significant roles. Dissatisfied with the position he was offered, he forwarded his hands in production but in the same vein of Shuvakamana, his dream couldn't be materialized.
At the time when actor Shreekrishna Shrestha had fellen sick, he couldn't continue his working film, Jiwansathi and opportunity was offered to Navin Shrestha, a resident of Hetauda who claims to have his face resembled with Bollywood actor Bibek Obroy. But this likeliness of the semblance didn't favor him. Nowadays he appears in the video films on and off.
Actor Dinesh Sharma, whose physical appearance resemblances with that of the popular Bolleywood actor, Salman Khan, has played more than a dozen feature films. In the quest of receiving popularity he even changed his name in the film, Tuhuro, as Ashis Sharma, but this changed title didn't earn goodwill and again he reappeared in the name of his own. Currently he is seen in the different tale-serials in the role of antagonist or any other insignificant character when he failed to establish himself as a main stream male lead.
If truth be told, there is a large mass of the people who claim to have been duplicate copy to the characters of the established industry. Actress Jharana Thapa used to claim to have been resembled with Bolleywood actress Bipasha Basu . She departed for Mumbai with a big dream but she got no any further opportunity than Love in Nepal as an item girl. Actress Usha Poudel compares herself in terms of facial similarity with that of Manisha Koirala , but she has not achieved the expected success.
In Nepali film industry, those who are swollen with pride of the resemblance of their facial or physical appearances with that of the popular Bolleywood film characters have neither became successful professionally nor could bestow a diverse flavor to the audiences. The audiences have the opinion that it is better to have their own creativity than to cherish the dream to be popular in the name of facial, physical or any other kind of resemblance.
